Today’s Come Dine With Me: The Professionals travels to Northern Ireland and kicking off the competition are head Chef Ian and Front of House Eva of Mourne Seafood Bar in Belfast. They proudly boast of being the original blueprint when it comes to seafood in the city and have no concerns about the competition this week.
However they didn't realise they’re up against Top Of The Town in Antrim, where Manager James and Chef David are confident their award winning restaurant will take some beating.
Completing the lineup are Head chef Emma and Operations Manager Paul from Gnostic, who believe their fresh and young approach will lead to success.
On night one, with some amazing food on offer, Emma isn’t shy in voicing her criticisms to the surprise of experienced chef Ian and even more surprising, is her revelation to the group that as a child she had an obsession with sticking peas up her nose.
On night two, James and David promise a fun evening and don't fail in delivering that. James recalls a meeting with Pavarotti and then breaks into a rendition of Nessun Dorma. Meanwhile not to be outdone David reveals amongst his Champion Salsa dancing background and is promptly challenged by Ian to show what he is made of.
The final night gives Ian a chance to get his own back after the criticism he faced at his restaurant - but Emma is ready for it. With a battle on their hands to impress these industry veterans, Paul and Emma throw everything except the kitchen sink at their night in the hope of winning the grand.
With gourmet grub and top flight entertainment on offer, which restaurant will claim the mantle as Northern Ireland's number one?
