The Cheap Seats
The Cheap Seats is a TV show on Network 10. The Cheap Seats is an Australian comedy panel show created for television by Melbourne-based Working Dog Productions (Pacific Heat, Have You Been Paying Attention?) for Network 10. The concept of the show revolves around presenters Melanie Bracewell (The Eggplant, Raw Comedy Quest) and Tim McDonald (Have You Been Paying Attention?, Utopia) going over selected clips from news and television shows from the last weeks prior to the episode, while their panel of guests accompanies the images with humorous commentary. The Cheap Seats also often features additional co-hosts who are specialised in a particular field and who sometimes report from remote locations. Over the years, these have included Australian journalist Natasha Exelby covering the Olympics, English comedian Rachel Fairburn reporting live from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and Australian stand-up comedian and TV presenter Josh Earl providing live news coverage from Tasmania. The popular program has been available since 2023. A total of 33 episodes have been broadcast, most recently in November 2024.
