It features crews from the Lye-based Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as well as the West Midlands Ambulance Services MERIT team, who are typically only called upon in the most serious of trauma cases. With exclusive access to the highest-priority cases, Ambulance: Code Red provides viewers with unparalleled insights into the work of these elite first-responders as they race to the scenes of emergencies and then use cutting-edge trauma techniques, including dramatic and often life-saving roadside surgery, to save patients from almost certain deaths.
