Rick has loved blues music since he first encountered it in the early 1960s. Now he takes viewers on a fascinating journey through the Mississippi Delta - the birthplace of the blues - seeking out his favourite music as well as the food that is ingrained in its heritage. Rick encounters a host of characters and communities who help to paint a colourful picture of Delta life and ‘down home’ cooking. He pays homage to the musicians who created the blues as he celebrates the tastes and smells that have been associated with it for nearly a century.
